Bengaluru: Two tweets by senior journalists on Bangalore Press Club election held on Sunday, April 23 has now led to a massive controversy.
All started with senior journalist D P Satish, chief of ETv Kannada posting the picture of election process where each member is being offered Whisky, Beer and Lunch coupon. Vishwavani Editor Vishweshawar Bhat retweeted these photos stating liquor and lunch coupons with voter slips were given in the Press Club election stating, “How can we criticise political parties? Stop this.”
As both these journalists have a huge following on micro blogging sites, these tweets soon became viral. Several followers of both the journalists demanded action against this practice.
It may be recalled that on Sunday Sadashiva Shenoy of BTV was elected as the new president while Kiran N V of TV 9 as the general secretary of the Club.
