Bengaluru: While its usual for cops to hold up people to make way for ministers’ convoy, a traffic police officer deployed at Bengaluru’s Trinity Circle on Saturday chose to do the unusual and held up the President’s convoy to let an ambulance pass through a busy junction.
The President was in the city to inaugurate metro’s Green Line and reportedly his convoy was headed towards the Raj Bhavan when the officer noticed the ambulance trying to find a way towards a private hospital near HAL.
The sub inspector displayed presence of mind and quickly passed on the directions to do the needful and allowed the ambulance to pass through the traffic-heavy road.
This act of his earned him accolades not just from the police department but also from people who took to Twitter and Facebook, including pages of the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP), to appreciate the officer.
