Bengaluru/Chennai: The interim stay granted against the controversial steel flyover project in Bengaluru was extended till December 20 by the southern bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT).
The tribunal had granted interim injunction after Bengaluru-based NGO Citizen Action Forum filed petition against the project on October 28. On Friday, Abshot Layout Residents Association represented by its vice-president A Feroz Ahmed impleaded into the case supporting the original petitioner’s contention. The tribunal however postponed the matter to December 20.
The State government’s proposal to build a steel flyover from the Basaveshwara Circle to Hebbal costing Rs Rs 1,791 crore has come under fire from all quarters in Karnataka.
