Bengaluru: The state government has become a role model for all other states by allocating greater amount towards the development of minorities, opined State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education and Minorities Welfare.
Addressing a training camp of members belonging to minority organisations at Devaraj Urs Bhavan in the city, under the auspices of State Minority Development Corporation, Minister Tanveer Sait said the state had the best schemes for the development of minorities and urged those present to create awareness about those among people belonging to minority communities.
The government has made linking Aadhar mandatory to avail the benefits of social welfare schemes and the organisations striving for minority development should educate people about the same so that more people come forward, minister Sait emphasised.
With government crediting the amount in the accounts of beneficiaries directly, the menace of middlemen has been totally eliminated, said Tanveer Sait.
Organisations associated with minority development should open their office counters in areas where minorities reside in large numbers and educate the illiterate masses, stated Sait.
Bangalore Urban Development Minister Roshan Baig, Minority Development Corporation Chairman M A Gafoor and Managing Director KMDC, N T Abroo, IAS were among those present.
