Bengaluru: The probe into the murder case of RSS leader Rudresh has been taken over by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Officials from Hyderabad branch of NIA are further investigating the case. A senior official of NIA said that they will continue the investigation from where Bengaluru City police had stopped. “There is no separate FIR. As there were similar cases reported in other states, we have decided to take the accused into custody to interrogate them,” said the officer.
Earlier, interrogation by Commercial Street police had revealed that the accused had travelled to Kerala and Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh to undergo training by an organization.
On October 16, Rudresh was hacked to death by some men on motorbikes near Commercial Street. Waseem Ahmed (30), a resident of Austin Town, Mohammed Mazar (35) of J C Nagar, Mohammed Mujibulla alias Moula (44) of R T Nagar, and Irfan Pasha (30) of Govindapura were arrested on October 27.
