Realtor hacked to death, old rivalry suspected

Bengaluru: A realtor was hacked to death on Monday late night at Kengeri satellite town.

The deceased is Mara Hanumaiah (48), a resident of Kengeri new town.

According to police, assailants came in a car and attacked Hanumaiah with machetes, when he was chatting with a friend in front of a tea shop at 80 ft road.

The incident took place at 10.30 pm and profusely bleeding Hanumaiah was immediately rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Prima facie, the incident is attributed to old business related rivalry between two gangs, police sources ascertained.

Meanwhile, it is said that Hanumaiah was a new entrant to the business in the area.

He had been into travel business for almost 15 years now and recently tried his luck in real estate business in which he was becoming moderately successful, police sources said.
