PSI suicide case: Officer records her statement

Bengaluru: PSI Roopa Tambada who attempted suicide on July 19, has recorded her statement with the Investigating Officer of the case and ACP Arun Kumar on Saturday, July 23.
PSI Roopa likely to be discharged from hospital tomorrow-1

According to police sources, Roopa has complained against inspector Sanjeev Gowda for targeting her unnecessarily and constantly insulting and abusing her in front of the subordinate staff in the station.

Meanwhile, the doctor in-charge, Shivkumar said that she will be discharged by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

As the incident turned into political mudslinging, Minister A Manju visited the hospital and consoled the officer.

It may be recalled that, 33-year-old Roopa Tembad, attached to Vijayanagar police station overdosed herself on paracetamol pills on Tuesday, July 19. Her action was triggered after an argument with a senior at work with regard to a missing mobile phone related to a case registered at the station, which the senior claimed to have seen in her possession.
