Prime accused in POCSO case falls down from 4th floor of court building in escape bid

Bengaluru: A prime accused in a POCSO case fell down from the fourth floor of the City Civil Court building while he was trying to escape and sustained severe injuries on Saturday evening.

Vicky alias Narasimha Murthy (21), was shifted to a hospital with multiple injuries. The incident occurred around 5.30 pm when the police were bringing him down from a court hall on the fourth floor, said the police.

The police arrested Murthy on Friday and produced him before the court on Saturday. The judge remanded him in judicial custody for 12 days. He is one of the four accused in the rape of a minor girl from Bagalgunte. It is said that Vicky had eloped with the girl to Andhra Pradesh and a case was registered in this regard with the Bengaluru north division police.
