Bengaluru: The Mahalakshmi Layout police have arrested three notorious chain snatchers and recovered 700 gm of gold jewellery worth Rs 27 lakh.
The police have identified the accused as Pradeep, Purushotham, and Prajwal. With the arrest of the accused persons, the police have detected 18 chain snatching cases.
According to the police, three accused persons used to target lonely women and escape from the scene after committing crime on a bike or a Maruti Ritz car.
The police said the accused have selected chain snatching to earn money for gambling. Cases were registered against the accused in Jnanabharathi police station, Mahalakshmi Layout police station and Jayanagar police station.
