Bengaluru: It is a moment of joy for artists and art-enthusiasts in the city as the National Exhibition of Art (NEA), which was almost shifted to Chennai, will now be held in Bengaluru.
The news was asserted by Chi Su Krishna Setty, administrator of Lalitakala Akademi (LKA) saying that an official communication was received on Thursday confirming that the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Bengaluru will provide their gallery space to hold the NEA.
NEA was slated to begin on January 15. However, the NGMA refused to host the show, citing lack of confirmation of permission from the Ministry of Culture. The LKA had decided to shift the venue to their regional centre in Chennai.
The prestigious exhibition featuring the works of 111 artists, shortlisted from more than 6,000 applications exhibition will commence on February 23 and go on till March 25.
