Bengaluru: City Police commissioner N S Megharikh on Wednesday submitted a report to DG&IGP Om Prakash on the event organized by Amnesty International India that led to heavy protests in the State on August 13.
Megharikh said that his report was about a specific incident which took place on August 13. According to sources, the report was sought by the Union Home Ministry and the DG&IGP Om Prakash has forwarded it to them.
It may be recalled that, Amnesty International India had organised a programme titled ‘Broken families-journey for justice’ at The United Theological College. During the event, a few of the participants had allegedly chanted anti-Indian army slogans leading to protests. ABVP filed a case against members of Amnesty International India. The members are being questioned by Assistant Commissioner of Police of J C Nagar division, who is heading the probe.
