Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor expressed total dissatisfaction over the disconnection of mobile phones that were provided to 65 corporators and officials of the corporation without prior intimation and demanded an enquiry into the issue.

Speaking at a hurriedly called press conference in the MCC auditorium, Mayor Ravi Kumar resented government’s move to disconnect CUG (Closed User Group) mobile phone connections without prior notice and demanded an enquiry into inflated BSNL bills.

As the bills ran into lakhs of rupees, the government went ahead with the disconnection on April 27.

However, the disconnection move did not go well among the corporators and officials as it would not help them to connect with the public and address civic issues.

The Mayor confirmed that none of the corporators and officials would avail the CUG mobile connectivity facility in future.
