Bengaluru: The Yelahanka police have taken two undertrials from Vijayapura prison into custody in connection with the firing on Kadabagere Srinivas, the president of Dasanapura Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, at Kogilu Cross near Yelahank. The shootout took place on February 3.
Yelahanka police suspect Ahaz Ahamed Patel and Abbas Ali of supplying country-made weapons to the shooters. They were arrested under the Arms Act and police are ascertaining how they continue to commit crimes despite being behind bars.
The police suspect them of getting access to mobile phones. The attack on Srinivas took place when his car stopped at Kogilu Cross traffic signal. Two bike-borne me shot at Srinivas and his driver Murthy. A total of six rounds were fired at them. Both sustained injuries, but survived.
