Bengaluru: The High Court on Monday sought the status of the probe against director A. Madan, who was arrested along with four of his associates on the charge of kidnapping the owner of an advertisement agency to recover a part of the money paid for promoting his film.
Justice Rathnakala sought to know the progress in the probe while hearing petitions filed by Madan and Praveen Kumar, Chalapathy, Murthy, and Mohan seeking bail. A Sessions Court had refused to release them on bail.
Madan was not happy with the promotion of his film Eradu Kanasu by the agency owned by Paramesh. Unhappy with the agency’s work, Madan demanded that Paramesh return Rs.8 lakh. When Paramesh started avoiding Madan, the latter sent his associated Chalapathy, Kiran, Murthy and Mohan to Paramesh’s office on a pretext of discussing the issue and got him abducted him.
