Bengaluru: The state High Court dismissed a petition filed by the state government on July 31 against Sandalwood actor and director Upendra, thereby giving a huge relief to the cine actor in a case related to purchase of land.

Actor Upendra had purchased 17 acres of 10 guntas land in Byaluru under Tavarekere limits in 2005.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) had then seized the land, alleging purchase of agricultural land by Upendra in violation of Land Revenue Act under columns 79 A and B.

The lower court dismissed AC’s order giving relief to Upendra which forced the government to move High Court. The state HC upheld the lower court’s order thereby giving a huge relief to Upendra.
