Govt to compensate Rajakaluve eviction drive victims with unsold BDA flats?

Bengaluru: In a good will gesture towards those who have lost their homes during the eviction drive on Rajakaluve, the State government is all set to compensate them by allotting BDA houses and sites.

The decision came after an hour meeting with authorities concerned on Saturday, August 27.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the authorities concern to work on the feasibilities of providing compensatory shelter for the owners of the houses which were pulled down during the recent drives. He also hinted on providing unsold and vacant BDA flats and houses to the people who lost their houses due to the demolition drive.

Meanwhile, the CM again affirmed that the demolition will continue and will not spare any errant builders and officials, no matter how powerful they are.

It is not yet known whether the flats will be allotted at lower prices or under different schemes, insiders said.

Minister in-charge Ramalingareddy, Mayor Manjunath Reddy and officials concerned were present in the meeting.
