Mysuru: Not everyone who lends a helping hand is always a Good Samaritan. Kabini Gowda, a resident of Hootagahalli learnt this lesson the hard way.
At about 11 pm on Wednesday, Kabini Gowda was returning home to Hootagahalli after completing his work at Kyatanahalli near Pandavapura when a scooter knocked down his two-wheeler. Soon, two men on the scooter came forward to help Kabini Gowda.
One of them told Gowda that he would ride the scooter and drop him to his home safely.
Gowda who was in pain agreed to the offer. However, on reaching a bar near Saraswathi Convention Centre, the rider stopped the two-wheeler and demanded money from Gowda to buy a drink. The stranger returned with a little liquor and poured it on Gowda’s wounds. He then snatched away his mobile and money and also fled with Gowda’s scooter.
When Gowda raised alarm, locals came to his rescue and took him to K R Hospital.
Vijaynagar police have registered the case.
