Four notorious rowdies held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Yelahanka police have nabbed four notorious rowdies on the intervening night of February 19 and 20 while they were planning to rob people to raise money to carry out their illegal activities including eliminating their arch rivals Mani, Mohan and Nagaraj.

The police have identified the arrested persons as Mohan Kumar alias Mohana alias Double Meter Mohana (30), Kutti Colony, Mahim House Road, Siddarapura, Nagaraj alias Wilson Garden Naga (30), 1st Main, Vinayaka Nagar, Wilson Garden, Raju alias Palaniswamy (24), near Someswara Temple, Lalbagh Siddapura, and Basavaraju (29), Appayanna Garden, Lalbagh Road, Siddapura, Jayanagar 1st phase, Bengaluru.

The police have seized one Wagon R car, one Hyundai Verna car, one country-made pistol and six live cartridges, one knife, two black jackets, one pair of shoes, one helmet, one log and one black colour luggage bag.

Speaking with media persons here on Tuesday, M Hemanth Nimbalkar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), said the Yelahanka police, after receiving a tip from reliable sources, rushed to the parallel road of Judicial Layout and succeeded to take four people into the custody but eight others have managed to escape in a Bolero vehicle from the spot. “During the interrogation, the police found that Mohan Kumar alias Double Meter Mohana and Nagaraj alias Wilson Garden Naga are the associates of notorious rowdies Sunil Kumar alias Silent Sunila and Rohit alias Onte who were arrested in a shootout case. It was found that Mohan Kumar was involved in Mota Venkatesh’s murder in 2003 and a case was registered at Banashankari police station and he is involved in Balu’s murder case in 2007 and a case was registered at Wilson Garden police station. He also involved in the murder of Circle Giri in 2013 and a case was registered at Kengeri police station. Nagaraj alias Wilson Garden Naga was involved in the murder of Gate Ganesh in 2009 and a case was registered at Kalasiplaya police station. A case was registered at Siddapura police station for kidnapping Murali in 2012 and a case was registered at Cottonpet police station for murdering Gupendra in the same year. The police also found that Nagaraj was involved in the murder of Nakra Babu of BTM Layout in 2014 and a case was registered at BTM Layout police station and also a murder case was registered at Whitefield police station for murdering Suhel in 2015,’’ Hemanth Nimbalkar said.

When asked whether the arrested persons, especially Mohan Kumar and Nagaraj had any connection with the recent shoot out that took place at Kogilu Cross, the Additional Commissioner of Police said the police are investigating the case and all the information and clues got from the accused or victims are thoroughly being verified. I cannot reveal more on the investigation at this juncture,’’ he said.
