Bengaluru: The special police team formed to detect robbery cases in Koramangala police limits arrested four people on charges of theft and robbery recently.
“The arrested persons were involved in theft and robbery at Koramangala, Girinagar, Jnanabharathi and Parappana Agrahara police limits in Bengaluru and Kunigal in Tumakuru district and Magadi in Ramanagaram district,” Bengaluru South East Deputy Commissioner of Police B.M. Boralingaiah said in a statement here on Wednesday.
The police have identified the arrested persons as Punith A.R. alias Puni, 25, hails from Guddeavarehalli in Ramanagaram district and residing at Thigalarapalya Main Road, Bengaluru, Sateesh alias Satya alias Kaadu Paapa, 33, residing at Andrahalli in Bengaluru, Devaraj H.C. alias Devu, 22, from Haaluvagilu village in Tumakuru district, Raghu H.S., 20, hails from Haaluvaagilu village in Tumakuru district and residing at Hosakerehalli, Banashankari 3rd phase, Bengaluru.
“Puneeth, one of the accused persons, was involved in a murder case in Peenya police limits. Satheesh, the second accused, was involved in a murder case in J.P. Nagar police limits,” Boralingaiah said.
The police have seized four gold chains weighing 104 grams and four two-wheelers valued at Rs 4,60,000 from the arrested persons. With the arrest of these people, the police have solved seven theft and robbery cases. “The arrested persons confessed to crime during the interrogation. They said that they involved in the crime to get money for paying advocate’s fee and to lead luxurious life,’’ he said.
