Bengaluru: Five Nigerian nationals were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly peddling cocaine and crystal meth in the city, said a top cop on Thursday.
“On a tip-off, the City Crime Branch (CCB) police raided a house in the north-east suburb in Bengaluru and seized 6.4 grams cocaine and 0.8 grams of crystal meth valued at Rs 2.5 lakh,’’ said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) S. Ravi in a statement.
During the raid on Tuesday night, Ikpendu Peter Ofor alias Peter Offor alias Baba, 32, Chinedueze alias Remijus, 32, Fidelis Ezeh, 36, Nonso Joachin, 33, and Valentine Chinedu, 28 were caught with cocaine and crystal meth.
“The accused were staying in a rented house on Kalkere Main Road in Ramamurthy Nagar police limits in Bengaluru north-east suburb,’’ Ravi said. The police have seized 14 mobile phones, three fake passports, one portable weighing machine, and three two-wheelers from the arrested persons.
A case has been registered against the five persons under the Narcotic, Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Foreigners’ Act at Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The arrested persons were remanded to a 14-day judicial custody.
