Bengaluru: The Koramangala police on Thursday arrested two persons after finding one kilogram of hashish (charas) worth Rs. 3 lakh on them. The arrested are Rakesh, 26, a resident of Urundadigudde in Mangaluru, and Amul Hasan, 23, a resident of Seshadhripuram and a native of Mangaluru, the police said.

They found a press card on Hasan who claimed that he was a reporter in a news agency.

The ID card stated that the media house worked on investigative stories and sting operations. However, upon investigation, the police found no such agency. Hasan was also booked for impersonation.

Interestingly, the police found a WhatsApp group created by Hasan which included local television journalists. Hasan’s associate Rakesh was also arrested. The duo used to procure the contraband from a person named Devdas in Bidar, said the police.
