Mysuru: The killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh has, as expected, brought the right wing in the eye of storm. However, on a query about the left supporter Gauri Lankesh, RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat replied that he neither knows Gauri nor does he know her father.
“I have not read the newspaper so far, but from what I hear, I believe there is a line within which one must write about issues. However, having said that I am not the one who would be hurt or insulted by such articles,” said Dr Bhat while speaking to reporters in Mysuru on Wednesday.
Dr Bhat was in the city as part of ‘Bhiksham Dehi’ campaign kick started by his supporters after the funding and support to the two schools run by him in Kalladka were abruptly discontinued by the state government.
“The Sangh does not support or tolerate violence. Everyone has the right to write and express their opinion, but those expressions should remain in an acceptable framework. The RSS is neither a left nor a right wing. It is an organisation that preaches and upholds nationalism and we are ready to do anything for the sake of this land, ” he said adding that the ones calling themselves as intellectuals are manifesting unacceptable behaviour.
Talking about the government’s decision to discontinue the aid that his schools received from Sri Kolluru Mookambika Temple, Dr Bhat said that the government which is showering ‘Bhagyas’ in row should not be partial.
“Discontinuing the supply of rice to schools is an unpardonable crime,” he said lashing out at the CM. Over 555 bags of rice have been received under this campaign in Mysuru.
