Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday challenged BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa to take immediate measures to send Congress leaders to prison instead of waiting for one year and three months.Image result for gundu raoSpeaking with media persons here, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Yeddyurappa has been behaving like a judge or dictator of Uganda. “I dare Yeddyurappa to send Congress leaders to prison if he had any proof of their involvement in corruption. BJP is in power at the Centre and investigating agencies are under the Central Government. I challenge Yeddyurappa to send Congress leaders to jail instead of waiting till next Assembly elections. I want to tell him why he has to wait till 15 months if he has any evidence against Congress leaders. I think a few BJP leaders are making Yeddyurappa a scapegoat by providing wrong information to him. I want to caution Yeddyurappa about his detractors in the BJP,’’ Rao said.

The KPCC working president has said that he had advised Yeddyurappa to consult a doctor when he issued a statement alleging Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave Rs 1,000 crore to Congress high command to remain in power. “It is true that I had advised him to consult a doctor but now he is behaving like an insane person. I think it will be good for him to get admitted to a hospital for a treatment. Yeddyurappa happened to appear before the court and even spent time in prison. I don’t understand why, despite of knowing the procedure of sending a person to jail, he is talking like an insane person,’’ he said.

Coming down heavily on the Income Tax department for targeting Congress leaders while conducting raids, he said the information and other details of the raids have been leaked to the media whenever Income Tax department officials conduct raids on the residences of Congress leaders. “No information or details are available on the raids conducted on the residences of other politicians and businessmen. I think it is a plot against Congress government and Congress leaders,’’ he said.

He said Congress would organize a protest – Satyameva Jayate – against BJP on February 23 at Freedom Park in Bengaluru. It may be recalled that BJP had organized a massive protest against Siddaramaiah government’s failures and rampant corruption at various government departments in front Town Hall on Monday. Yeddyurappa, while addressing the gathering, said that he would send Congress leaders involved in corruption within 24 hours of BJP coming to power in the next Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2018.
