Bengaluru: Following urban development department’s decision to hold election for BBMP mayor and deputy mayor’s post on September 26, the Congress has kick started the process of creating consensus on continuing coalition with the JDS.
It can be recalled that mayor post has been reserved for SC category while deputy mayor for General (women).
According to the sources, Congress leader, urban development minister Roshan Baig has already held two rounds of talks with JDS supremo H D Devegowda in this regard. Party has deputed home minister Ramalinga Reddy to take final decision on the coalition.
Sources say that Reddy, KPCC presider Dr G Parameshwara and working president Dinesh Gundurao are expected to meet JDS state president H D Kumaraswamy soon, who is demanding mayor post for the party.
