Bengaluru: As per the Supreme Court direction, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started probe into DySP Ganapati suicide case. As per the request by the CBI director, the CID, which had investigated the case has started the process of handing over all the documents to the CBI.
According to the CID sources, on Monday it had received a letter from the CBI headquarters in New Delhi on the transfer of documents. CID DIG Kishorechandra has confirmed the letter and informed that all the documents will be handed over at the earliest.
The CBI team from Chennai is expected to take up the investigation. “The CBI has now 50 days time to complete the investigation as per the SC direction. It can even seek extension of duration for the investigation.”
It can be recalled that in his last interview to a private channel, DySP Ganapti blamed few IPS officers including then state home minister K J George which led to his resignation from the post. But he was reinducted to the state cabinet following clean chit by the CID.
