Bengaluru: After the twin by-poll debacle, even though the BJP has gracefully accepted the verdict of the voters from an outset, inside the BJP house there are deliberations going on and efforts are being made to analyse and introspect the factors that may have contributed to the defeat of the party that is planting victory flag in unexpected grounds across the country.
It is said that BJP state Chief B S Yeddyurappa has sought an explanation from the party election in-charges of both the Assembly segment-Nanjangudu and Gundlupet.
While BJP leaders Shobha Karandalaje and V Sommanna shouldered responsibility of election in Nanjangudu, CT Ravi and Aravind Limbavali were the in-charges for Gundlupet. Based on their explanation, BSY is expected to forward a report to the high command.
It is said that after the landslide victory of the Congress in the by-polls, which had transformed into a prestige issue for both the Congress and the BJP simply because the poll results were being called as the pre-cursor to the upcoming Assembly polls, BSY has made a preliminary communication to BJP National Chief Amit Shah wherein he has said that though the BJP has tasted defeat in the by polls, the total percentage of votes garnered by the BJP has increased. “Both have been the Congress stronghold,” BSY is believed to have told Shah adding that there is no need to take the poll results very seriously.
