Bengaluru: The state government has transferred Rajkumar Khatri, Commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). Khatri has been posted as Principal Secretary, Youth Empowerment and Sports Development with immediate effect.
Rakesh Singh, a 1989 batch IAS officer, has been given concurrent charge as BDA Commissioner. Singh is currently also principal secretary, Water Resources Department.
Over the past couple of months, the BJP had intensified protests against the BDA for its failure to rehabilitate Arkavathy site allottees and the alleged mess in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. MLA S. Suresh Kumar had written several letters to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the issue.
Sources said that a delegation of ruling Congress MLAs had also recently sought the transfer of Khatri.
