Bengaluru: BBMP has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state-run Jayadeva and Victoria hospitals for providing free stents and angioplasty to the poor patients.
As per the MoU, two patients from each ward will be entitled for free angioplasty and stents from BBMP. The corporation will spend Rs. 4 crores on this project.
Under the project which was announced the BBMP budget 2017-18, Jayadeva hospital will get Rs. 3.5 crores while Victoria hospital will get Rs. 50 lakhs. 396 patients will get the benefit of this scheme.
According to the sources, BBMP commissioner Manjunath Prasad has already held discussions with the heads of both the institutes over project implementation.”Soon BBMP will release money. BBMP corporators are given the powers to shortlist the eligible patients,” said sources.
