Bangalore: The much awaited Bangalore-Mysore six lane road construction work is expected to begin by the end of August.
It’s been a long awaited dream for thousands of commuters on the country’s busiest highway between the two cities.
Speaking to media, PWD Minister HC Mahadevappa, detailed about the project and said the work will be undertaken at the estimated cost of more than Rs 6000 crores.
The travel time between two cities is expected to be reduced by at least an hour after the construction work is completed, Mahadevappa said.
The 113 km stretch highway project requires Rs 6,100 crores in which 2,400 crores for land acquisition and Rs 3,700 crores for road laying.
The highway will also accommodate service roads alongside and over bridges at several stretches to ensure safe and fast journey.
Almost 40 percent of the land required for the project is already acquired and compensation has been dispersed.
