Bengaluru: Professor Kancha Ilaiah’s book ‘Samajika Smugglurlu Komatollu’ (Vysyas are social smugglers) has led to controversy in the state too. On Monday members of the Arya Vaishya community, one of the influential social groups of the state held a protest in Bengaluru demanding an immediate ban on the book and criminal case against the author.
The protest was organised by various organizations of the community and led by JDS MLC T A Sharavana. Speaking on the occasion, Sharavana alleged that Kancha Illaiah has written this book to destroy the social harmony.
He urged the state government to ban the book else community members will register cases against the author is all the police stations of the state.
It can be recalled that in Andhra and Telangana, community is holding protests since last few days urging the state governments to ban the book.
