Bengaluru: In an effort deemed to be a face saving exercise, the state government is mulling over the idea of sending Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav on compulsory leave.
According to sources, the state government has lost its face die to Arvind Jadhav’s alleged involvement in land grabbing cases and wants to take immediate damage controlling measures.
Hence, the state government is thinking of sending Jadhav on compulsory leave as early as possible. The decision is likely to be taken on Saturday, August 27. However, Jadhav’s term ends on September 30 as chief Secretary and till then he will be sent on compulsory leave, sources said.
Jadhav was caught in land grabbing cases and his office was raided over the issue recently. He is accused of allegedly waiving off norms to buy agricultural land near Anekal and Devanahalli and convert it into commercial plots.
The detailed report on the issue is awaited, but preliminary reports suggested he is at the helm of scandal, sources said.
