Bengaluru: Most anticipated global English news channel of renowned journalist Arnab Goswami is expected to be launched on May 1. According to the reliable sources in the cable industry, channel is expected to be aired on all cable networks beside major DTH platforms.It can be recalled that Arnab Goswami, who was the editor in-chief of TIMES NOW channel before quitting the channel following difference of opinion with the management had tied up with several investors including NDA leader, MP Rajeev Chandrashekar over launching the Republic TV.
Change in the name
Initially this channel was named as Republic. But following the complaint by BJP leader, Rajya Sabha member Subramaniam Swamy to the ministry of information and broadcasting, Goswami was forced to change the name of the channel to Republic TV.
Recently, Goswami had alleged that Times of India group of sending him legal notice against the use of the phrase ‘Nation Wants to Know’, which is often used by Goswami in his prime time show.
