Bengaluru: Dinesh Gundu Rao, working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has said that Congress-supported candidates won a majority of seats in the recently held elections to 131 Agricultural Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs).
Speaking with media persons here Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Congress-supported candidates won 769 seats, BJP – 608 seats, JD(S) – 298, and others 45. “The Congress-backed candidates won 179 seats more in this time than in 2011,” the KPCC working president said.

Janata Dal (Secular) has won nine out of the total 14 posts in the election held to fill the posts of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC).
Cong sweeps APMC polls in Chikkaballapur
Congress backed candidates have won the election held to Chikkaballapur APMC. The farmers have strengthened the Congress in the district. The election was held for 12 seats and Congress supported candidates have won in all the constituencies.
