Bengaluru: Income tax sleuths are conducting a raid on properties owned by former state chief minister SM Krishna’s son-in-law VG Siddhartha which also includes the Cafe Coffee Day chain.
According to sources, the raids are being carried out over 20 locations in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Chikmagaluru. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the raids from the Income Tax Department as yet.
S M Krishna who is a former Congress leader had recently joined the BJP cadres.
Interestingly, the state government had alleged political vendetta by the Centre when few of its leaders, including DK Shivakumar had come under the scanner of the income tax department. However, this time it is the relative of a BJP leader that has come under the scanner.
