ACB summons: Require time to respond to allegations in FIR, says BSY

Bengaluru: Responding to the summons issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on himself, BJP state president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has sought 10 days time to gather relevant details pertaining to the land denotification case.

Yeddyurappa, who was required to appear before the ACB on Saturday morning to record his statement cited that he had received the notice on Thursday and he required the time to gather necessary details pertaining to the case so he can provide answers to the questions posed to him.

According to the FIRs registered against Yeddyurappa at Bengaluru City branch of ACB on August 10 it is alleged that he had misused the powers vested in him during his term as the chief minister to denotify around 257 acres land illegally, thereby causing loss to the Bangalore Development Authority.

The land in question was reportedly acquired for Dr Shivarama Karanth Layout in Bengaluru North taluk.
