Wife makes husband pay fine for not wearing helmet: gathers 2000 FB likes

Bangalore :Wearing a helmet while riding is compulsory for the rider. However, many two wheeler riders ignore this police diktat and when caught are forced to cough up the fine.

Archana, a private firm employee, was riding pillion with her husband Amit around 8:50 pm on Tuesday on the Koramangala 80 feet road. Amit was riding without wearing a helmet.

Archana, who spotted traffic policemen, asked her husband to go towards the policemen and when he did so, she did a surprising thing, something that most wives would not dare do – She asked the policemen to fine her husband for not wearing  the helmet.  They could not turn away a gift horse and collected the fine and issued a receipt as per the rules. The receipt no: A/5/1180/34888.

What followed is what is important. The Cops, looking for model traffic behavior to highlight and set an example for lesser mortals, with their permission, uploaded the  details of the incident on the Bangalore Traffic Police website (http://www.bcp.gov.in/), along with the couple’s picture, for which the husband and wife posed on Wednesday night.

Not surprisingly, the post received more than 2,000 likes and positive comments. As usual however, society comprises both the positive and the negative and narrow minded people started posting negative and sarcastic and often humiliating comments. The couple then called up the police and requested that the post be deleted, which the police did.
