Two Corporators clash at Jayanagar block office, suffer injuries

Bangalore : It is reported that supporters of the BJP Corporator from Yadiyur N R Ramesh (in pic) and those of a former Congress Corporator from Sudamanagar, T V Prabhu, clashed at the the Jayanagar II block office of Vijayakumar, joint commissioner (South) of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Both parties suffered injuries.

While Prabhu was bruised on the cheek and arm and had his shirt collar torn, Ramesh has a knife cut in his left arm. Ramesh filed an assault case against Prabhu in the Siddapura police station, stating that he was attacked by the latter in the JC’s office. He also accused Prabhu of threatening him with dire consequences. Prabhu has filed a counter-complaint on similar lines. The JC was supposed to hear a complaint of land-grabbing by Ramesh against Prabhu. Vijayakumar ironically, denied being present when the incident took place. The CCTV cameras in and outside the premises were switched off, according to Ramesh’s complaint to the police.

Ramesh, who has made allegations of administrative malpractice against former chief minister S M Krishna, energy minister D K Shivakumar and minister of state for food and civil supplies Dinesh Gundu Rao. Also had earlier, filed a complaint accusing Prabhu of encroaching on 9,000 acres of BBMP property, worth Rs 50 crore and forging documents. Chickpet MLA R V Devraj and his wife Mamta are also accused of colluding in the encroachment when Prabhu was the chairman of the Town Planning Committee.
