Bangalore: After Mythriya Gowda filed a complaint against Karthik Gowda, the police have booked him on the charges of abduction and rape, but are yet to arrest him, pending completion of investigation which is going on. However on Saturday August 30; Karthik submitted a plea for anticipatory bail at the Bangalore city civil court.
Based on her complaint, the police registered a case against Karthik under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC at RT Nagar police station
The police have been investigating the matter, and reportedly Union minister DVS Gowda has not interfered in the investigation till date.
On Friday August 29, Mythriya Gowda was questioned by the police for over 12 hours, and the police are planning to question Karthik today. It is also learnt that if the police find enough evidence of the charges, Karthik will be taken into custody by the police. Anticipating that the police might arrest him, he filed the anticipatory bail plea.
The police have already seized all the evidence, along with the photos as well as the phone conversations between the couple.
