Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular), which vacated its Race Course Office recently – after it lost its case in the apex court – finally succeeded in securing a site for building a party office in the heart of the city.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which allotted the land, has fixed a rent of Rs 12,000. According to its resolution, only required space will be given in the vacant site next to Krishna Flour mill in Subashnagar ward of Gandhinagar constituency.
Recently, the JD(S) party had vacated its office on Racecourse road following a Surpreme Court verdict, which is now used by the congress party.
Ever since the party lost its case, it began looking for a suitable plot in the heart of the city. However, the party received a set back after BBMP, which allotted a land behind Chowdiah memorial Hall, led to a controversy after High Court upheld the petition by one Chandrashekara Bhat, who claimed right over the property.
