Bangalore :The Peenya Satellite new bus stand was established and inaugurated to avoid traffic and crowd in Kempegowda bus station and the city, here on August 21.
This bus stand has been built on 6 acres of land at a cost of 39.25 crores. After inaugurating CM said that the State govt is taking all the necessary steps to lessen the traffic in the area especially as the metro works were in progress in the area.
Transport minister R Ramalinga Reddy said that 1021 buses travelling to Tumkur, Pavagada, Davangere, Mangalore, Kunigal, Hassan, Chikmagalur along with North karnataka will be travelling from this station.
In the first phase, 136 express buses of Hubli, in the 2nd phase 151 buses of Bellary Hospet, third phase 150 buses of Shimoga, 4th phase 416 buses of Hassan and in fifth phase Pavagada and Tumkur 168 express buses will run from this station.
KSRTC buses will run from this station after 29th of this month, ie. after Ganesha chaturthi. As the festival is celebrated for two days, buses will run from Kempegowda bus stand itself. From September 1, more KSRTC buses will run from Peenya bus station, he said.
