Bangalore becomes first railway station with Wifi facility

Bangalore: Bangalore, India’s silicon city has another first. Its railway station on Tuesday, became the first in the country to be to be fitted with Wifi facilities.

Union Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the facility in the city as a pilot project by the Indian Railways.

This service was introduced for the commuters to stay connected.

This facility shall be available to passengers on their free of charges for a period of 30 minutes, following which, the user may continue to surf the internet upon the purchase of scratch cards, which will be made available at the WiFi Help Desk.

These are priced at Rs 25 for 30 minutes and Rs.35 for 1 Hour and are valid through 24 hours. Additional browsing time can also be purchased on-line using credit and debit cards.
