Bangalore: The Ticket issuing staff of Namma Metro, who are employed by Namma Metro through a contractor,  staged a protest at the Indranagar metro station on Sunday morning demanding payment of salaries pending for over three months. Close to 50-odd contract staff  participated in the protest.

BMRCL officials immediately arranged ticket machine operators from the Green Line (Peenya to Swastik) to avoid inconvenience to passengers.

It is learnt that the staff have not got salary from the last three months and they are finding it is very difficult to survive in the city without salary.  Many of them are staying in a PG accommodation and have to pay the rent on the first of every month.  Sources said that the the BMRCL higher ups have been reassuring them for the last three months and yet nothing happened and ultimately they resorted to the protest.

The staff also alleges that agency appointed by the BMRCL is not giving proper information on deduction of salaries especially their provident fund.
