Bangalore: Software engineer has filed a complaint with Madiwala police alleging that an auto driver misbehaved with her on September 18.
The complainant Reena Biswas alias Rini, a resident of Cashier Layout, filed a complaint with the police stating that after finishing work she approached an auto driver to drop her home.
The auto driver allegedly asked her to pay him Rs 80. Rini then asked him to ply as per the meter. The auto driver reportedly dropped her in Maruthi Layout instead of Cashier Layout. Rini said in her complaint that she told him to drop her to Cashier Layout or she would pay him Rs 20 less than the meter fare.
The auto driver and Rini reportedly got into an argument and when it went to the extreme, the auto driver abused her and spat on her face, she claimed. Rini allegedly tried to assault the driver and some locals gathered to resolve the issue.
The auto driver reportedly escaped from the spot. The police said, “We have sent the registration number of the auto to the RTO. We have learnt that he is a resident of Tannery Road. A case under IPC section 354 for molestation has been registered and investigation is on.”
