Bangalore: The Hyderabad police naxal squad arrested a suspected naxal couple from their Peenya residence at Bangalore early Wednesday morning on September 17.
The city police claimed they did not have any clue on the arrests made. However, reliable sources from the Hyderabad police said that a couple has been arrested and have been to Hyderabad for interrogation.
The arrested couple were identified as Krishna and Bharathi. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were residing in a rented accommodation in Anandappa layout, Bagalagunte, owned by one Ramanaiah.
“They were living here since four years and never interacted with anyone. What I noticed in them that they spoke Seemadhdra Telegu, which is little different from the Telugu spoken by Bangaloreans. The man worked as mason while wife went to garment factory for first three years. For last two years, she was doing embroidery work at home,” Ramanaiah told Hyderabad police.
According to police sources, the couple frequented Andhra Pradesh. “At times, they would not return to city for couple of weeks. However, they did not involve in any illegal activities in the city,” sources said.
Hyderabad police also said that they have recovered two sim cards, which belonged to Andhra Pradesh BSNL.
“Investigations revealed that the couple used these sims whenever they were in AP. The numbers in their dialed list, obtained from call record details, show that they were in touch with extremists,” sources added.
