A different kind of Road rage: Man bashed up for wrong parking!

Bangalore: Srinivas Reddy  parked his vehicle in the wrong place, in front of a residence in Koramangala, and learnt his lesson the hard way.

Inline image 1The owner objected and allegedly thrashed him and his care, with a rolling pin and an iron rod. The incident occurred on 60-ft Road, 6th Block, Koramangala, at around 7.30 pm on Saturday.

In Bangalore, houses are build like match boxes, with hardly any place for parking of vehicles within the abode’s gates. If there is a provision for the same, at most,  it accommodates one vehicle. Consequently most people use the road to park their vehicles, and often this is an irritant to the house owner –  if the vehicle parked does not belong to him

Reddy, a resident of Hulimavu and employed in a travel agency apparently suddenly decided to have a cup of tea and stopped on the 60ft road. Since it was for a short while, Reddy parked his car, a Toyota Etios, right next to a residence which was on the opposite side of the road from the tea stall. He had just started sipping his tea, when the resident of the house in front of which he parked his vehicle came out and started bashing his car. He allegedly smashed the left window and the side-mirror with an iron rod, and continued smashing the car even when Reddy said he would remove it from there.

Reddy alleged that Sharma then attacked him with a rolling pin and the iron rod when he tried to stop him from damaging the car. Sharma’s attack was so relentless that even the 40-odd people who had gathered at the spot could not stop him. They then informed the police and when the police came, they were allegedly abused by Sharma.

Reddy sustained multiple head injuries.

Finally Reddy managed to escape and filed a complaint with the Koramangala Police who have issued a notice to Sharma to appear before them for further investigation.
