IMA & MMCAA celebrates Doctors Day

Mysore: Indian Medical Association (R) Mysore and Mysore Medical College Alumni Association celebrated Bidhan Chandra Roy’s Birthday as Doctors Day on 19 july 2014 in M A A Auditorium J K Grounds Mysore.

 

The function was presided by Dr N Chandrshekar President IMA Mysore branch and Dr H C Mahadevappa Hon’ble Minister for PWD Govt of Karnataka was invited as chief guest to the function and he was accompanied by Vasu MLA Chamaraja Constituency Mysore.

Dr B Krishnamurthy Dean & Director Medical College and Research Institute Mysore and D Mohamed Ghouse Shariff President M A A Mysore were also present with the guest on the stage.

Chief Guest Dr H C Mahadevappa spoke about Bidhan Chandra Roy work to the nation as Doctor and also a chief minister of west Bengal. He told that he was the successful as Doctor in profession and good social worker as politician. He also recalls Roy’s hard work during the Indian Independence to the public. Dr Roy was treating free to the poor without expecting anything in return. He also said Roy had a conflict with Gandhi when he went to treat Gandhi during the Indain Independence later under the guidance of Gandhi Roy entered politics and became the chief Minister of Bengal.

Vasu, MLA, Chamaraja Constituency, Mysore, told that his Constituency does have almost all medical institutions and hospital and requested Hon’ble Minister to grant maximum finance to improve the medical field and serve the common people to the best.

In the function the Executive committee members of IMA & MAA Mysore honored Dr M A Shekar, Dr Yoganna S P, Dr Mahadev,  Dr Anand B R and Dr Sujatha Srinivasa Rao T.

The children of Doctors who had secured good percentage in SSLC and PUC in the respective board exams and children who are good at sports were appreciated and honored.
