Mumbai :The society can progress only when students who are like its eyes give first preference to education, said Bhasker Salian, Working President of Billawara Association Vidya Samithi.
He was speaking as a chief guest at a talent felicitation programme and a scholarship distribution function organised by the Kandivali unit of the Association at the Pancholia School Auditorium on July 6.
Gangadhar Poojary, Working President of the local unit presided over the function. He said the Samithi has been constantly responding to the problems of the local Billawa community members and sought the co-operation of all members in the successful functioning of the organisation. He also urged the youth to take active part in the Samithi’s activities.
The meeting condoled the death of Keshav T Poojari a member who passed away recently.
R.D. Poojari, Vice President of the Samithi, Bhasker Poojari, Manjayya C Amin, Sadashiva of Youth Wing, and others were present.
Latha Bangera, Varija Karkera and Savitha Poojari of Women’s Wing rendered the prayer. Yogesh Hejmady, Secretary compered the programme. Vijay D Poojari, Treasurer proposed the vote of thanks.
