“Thank you for taking me home. Thank you for doing so safely.,” says a passenger in a heartfelt note to a pilot.

Amid all the intense speculation and drama unfolding after the Germanwings tragedy, a heartfelt letter from a passenger to a pilot has gone viral.

In the handwritten letter, a female passenger, Bethanie, on flight from United Kingdom to London thanks the pilots for taking her home safe. “Thank you for taking me home. Thank you for doing so safely. Thank you for allowing me to

live…,” she writes.

The passenger also refers to the Germanwings mishap in which 150 people lost their lives after a co-pilot deliberately crashed the jet in the Frecnh Alps. “In light of the very recent tragedy in the French Alps and the loss of those poor 150 people, I feel the need to reach out to you and extend a compassionate hand. I’m hoping to create a ripple effect and spread some compassion and understanding.”

Releasing the impact of the crash on the aviation industry, the thoughtful passenger pens, “You’re making a massive difference and you’re the reason I can smile tonight.”

The letter was uploaded on Twitter by Jai Dillon, a pilot based in Manchester. “A letter given to a colleague from a passenger onboard his aircraft.. Providing proof that we’re all in this together,” he tweets.

Since then the letter has been retweeted over 3.7k times.
